Press Release Body = Satyam Computer Services Ltd. and Microsoft Corp. has announced
the opening of two state-of-the-art Business Intelligence (BI) facilities in
Singapore and Shanghai. The two sites will be centres of excellence where
researchers will use real-life scenarios and data to test, develop, and implement
innovative solutions for the Financial Services sector.

The companies also announced the availability of Satyam's iDecisions business
intelligence application, built to run on the Microsoft platform, including
Microsoft SQL Server 2005. By optimizing Microsoft and Satyam's BI solutions and
services, a broad range of financial business customers will be able to realize
enhanced customer benefits including greater ease of use and reduced ownership and
integration costs.

"Traditional BI solutions tend to be quite complex, expensive applications which
limit their usage in organizations," said Director and Senior Vice President
APAC-MEIA, Satyam Computer Services, Virender Aggarwal. "By porting iDecisions
framework to the Microsoft platform we can provide a lot more value and ease of use,
helping to make use of advanced data-warehousing and making BI more accessible
across enterprises of all sizes."

The labs will use SQL Server 2005 as the database engine, utilizing its
comprehensive analytical, reporting, integration, and data migration capabilities.
This will be integrated with Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003 to provide
collaboration, dashboard and scorecard functionalities and enable companies to
extend the value of their existing applications.

Satyam iDecisions, built on SQL Server 2005, will enable customers to better manage
critical, timely information, empowering them to benefit from the close integration
of SQL Server 2005 with Microsoft Visual Studio, the Microsoft Office System, and a
suite of new development tools, including the Business Intelligence Development
Studio.

"The ongoing relationship between Satyam and Microsoft is further evidence of how
important strong, global, industry relationships are. Microsoft and Satyam are
providing solutions to enterprise customers that empower employees to collaborate,
expedite decision-making and increase efficiencies," said Vice President Sales and
Marketing, Microsoft Asia Pacific, Ken Wye Saw.

"According to IDC's latest worldwide BI vendor report, the revenue growth rate of
Microsoft BI tools in 2005 was, at 25 percent, more than twice the rate of the
overall market. This collaborative project with Satyam will help us continue to
expand our joint solutions for the BI sector. We are also exploring the possibility
of extending the scope of the BI testing facilities to other markets and other
vertical industries," he added.

Microsoft and Satyam developers will be able to perform a wide variety of standard
and non-standard demonstrations at the new sites, both on-site and online. Test
scenarios will include simulating fluctuating user volumes (stress testing) and
performing advanced analytics using data mining to predict credit card attrition.

Analytical features will also address the latest industry standards such as the
uniform framework of Basel II, including highly specific customer intelligence for
increasing customer lifetime value and credit risk management that financial
businesses need. The labs will enable Microsoft and Satyam to study customers'
requirements more quickly to ensure faster and more cost effective implementation of
BI capabilities. The Shanghai lab will additionally focus on creating local language
versions for the business requirements in Greater China.
